Our Activities

  1. Our activities are guided by our 5-year Strategic Plan (2025-2030), which serves as a comprehensive roadmap for enhancing impact, bolstering institutional capacity, and scaling transformative community initiatives. These initiatives are informed by valuable lessons learned from previous partnerships with Organisations such as USAID/AVSI, Plan International, GIZ, UGEFA, AWDF, ENventure, GRiC Africa, and FICH. Moreover, our strategies align closely with Uganda's Vision 2040, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the African Union Agenda 2063, ensuring that our efforts contribute meaningfully to national, regional, and continental development objectives.

Some Of Our Activities
Education & Skills for Life
At DEPCOT, we are committed to improving access to quality education and skills development for vulnerable children and youth. Our initiatives include scaling TaRL-based literacy and numeracy programs to boost foundational skills, expanding Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers to support early learning, and offering vocational training to enhance employability. Additionally, we integrate innovative digital learning tools through AI4Learning to ensure inclusive and effective education for all learners.
Empowerment & Gender Equity
  • DEPCOT empowers young people, especially adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), to create sustainable futures. Our programs expand vocational training and entrepreneurship opportunities, strengthen Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and youth enterprise hubs, promote gender equality, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and child marriage prevention, and establish Sports4CHange hubs that foster leadership, inclusion, and community growth
Climate Action
We champion advancing sustainable solutions that protect the environment while improving community well-being. We promote clean energy adoption through improved cook stoves, solar, and biogas technologies; establish master nurseries with solar-powered irrigation; distribute tree seedlings; and engage schools and youth in Green Champions Clubs to nurture environmental stewardship
